I have Mac OS X and I love him, but I want to dual boot and the shift to Linux. How can I create a Linux distribution for Mac, this seems a much safer solution.

On Intel-based Mac hardware these days, so use the same x86 download to a PC.
And if you have a CD in the mail, it's easy and free to download. Have you chosen a distribution yet? I suggest Ubuntu.
